Come join us in building Ireland’s first open-source think tank for international affairs!
At Torc, we aim to bring society and the world of policy-making closer together, by providing platforms which allow the insights and ideas of our members to be heard.
Our think tank is open-source and participatory, meaning that, rather than from the top-down, the momentum of our project originates with our members.
Participation in this network allows us to work closely with already existing think tanks in other European countries, to exchange skills and knowledge, as well as to create a truly transnational project.
We are independent and non-partisan. We believe that this provides us with a unique and impartial perspective, favourable to the production of creative solutions to complex problems.
Our Core Aims:
We aim to provide our members with platforms to communicate their ideas, insights, and opinions.
We endeavour to foster constructive and future-oriented engagement with international challenges and to produce practical, coherent, research-based policy proposals, in the form of blogs, policy papers and briefs, and events.
Our Central Vision:
- Inform: We want to make the world of policy-making more accessible, by enabling our members to communicate their insights and ideas to decision-makers, while also providing civil society with a greater understanding of the world of international affairs.
- Reform: We aim to provide our members with an inclusive and dynamic outlet, which transcends political divides and allows for a more diverse range of voices to be heard.
- Engage: We want to create a political community which enables people to engage with the world of foreign policy and international affairs in a constructive and meaningful way.
Furthermore, the liberal democratic values of tolerance, equality, inclusivity, and respect for human rights and the rule of law are at the core of our work and think-tank structure.
